Another busy and productive week for your local neighbourhood officers, with proactive patrols, community engagement and positive enforcement action helping to keep you safe.
We're delighted to welcome two new PCs to the team, strengthening our ability to tackle crime and support residents across the ward. At the same time, we would like to thank PC Bharke for his dedication and hard work and wish him every success on his new team.
Your information continues to drive our policing activity. Throughout the week, officers have been carrying out high-visibility patrols in areas highlighted by residents, gathering intelligence, identifying emerging issues and taking action against those responsible for crime and anti-social behaviour. Every conversation, report and piece of information helps us build a clearer picture of local concerns and target our resources where they are needed most.
There was also a significant result in Woolwich Town Centre, where officers arrested three men on the Dockyard after they stole more than £300 worth of goods from local businesses. One of the offenders was also found to be in breach of a Community Protection Notice (CPN). Thanks to the swift actions of officers, all three were charged and remanded, removing repeat offenders from our streets.
Alongside enforcement activity, officers have continued visiting residents in sheltered housing schemes across Woolwich. These visits provide reassurance, crime prevention advice and an opportunity for some of our most vulnerable residents to discuss issues affecting them directly with local officers.
Community engagement remains at the heart of what we do. We are committed to listening, responding and working alongside residents to make Woolwich an even safer place to live, work and visit.
Would you like to see a police drop-in surgery in your area? If there is a location where you feel residents would benefit from meeting local officers and discussing concerns face to face, please get in touch and let us know.
No Woolwich Dockyard newsletter would not be complete without a quote of the week. This one reminds us to continue to remain resilient through adversity:
"The darker the night, the brighter the stars."
